Broken 50mm Canon. Fixable?

I just accidently dropped my Canon 50mm f1.8 prime lens and it is in two pieces now

I've found a guide on how to put it back together but is it going to be worth the trouble? I know very little about how lens work and are put together.

If anyone can help fixing I would appreciate the help just don't want to fork out another £80.

Edit: I should have asked whether I would get the same results by putting it back together or without proper equipment it would be impossible to do so.

buy a new one, seriously its not worth your time. even if you did put it back together id be surprised if the optics werent out of alignment.

^^ this. If it was a 1.4 it would be worth trying or selling as broken, but a 1.8? Nah, chalk it upto experience and get another one.

Do you have insurance? Did you drop it in the house? Household insurance may cover it.

I broke two 1.8s on my travels, very flimsy. 1.4 is better made, better pictures too
