Hi all

So on Christmas day I had a little accident with my iPhone 4, wich resulted in the glass on the front being smashed but it's still useable.

Also I have a crack in my iPad 2 which I have no idea how this happend, however I think this may be down to my house being exceedingly cold (broken boiler)

So anybody know how much apple would charge to fix both?

I would get them to an Apple Store, preferably taken by a female, and chance your arm, they are well known to replace them FOC, especially for females for some reason.

So how does one go about seeing a "genius" do I just go in and speak to some one in there and show them ? Or....

What's the process ? (sorry never had to do this before so a little confused)

DIY? Dad replaced his last iPhone screen with a kit off the auction place for about £20 If I remember rightly, after he got weld splatter on his and it cracked.

I tried my hand in fixing an iPhone screen on my 3G when the mrs broke it. But this resulted In the home button not working although the screen was perfectly fine lol

And have looked at videos on fixing the 4 but it looks very complicated as you basically have to take to the whole phone out just to get to the front and don't want to risk it....

£200 to repair an Ipad glass? If I had an iPad 2 and had to pay that out I may has well bin it and put the £200 towards an iPad 3. £200 seems like a rip off not that I'm calling anyone a lier as I we all know how Apple love to rip off their loyal customers.

They don't repair them, they give you a full unit, so £200 is pretty cheap.
