By some ***** scum. They've bent the door out at the top, nicked the CD player (which was broken), bank statements etc. The insurance excess is too high to cover the damage so I'm left trying to work out how to get this fixed :(

Take it the unit was on show?

Yeah, we stupidly got into the habit of leaving it in there as it wasn't worth much, all the wires were ripped out and the inside of the car is a right state, it's pouring with rain and the inside of the car is getting soaked where the gap is but I've been told to wait for someone from forensics to ring me before touching anything.

Think the forensics will be useless as it's rained away any finger prints that were on there at least thats what they told me when they did mine. It's probably just procedure and unlikely they will find anything. Might be a good time to invest in an alarm?? Or at least some stickers and a flashy led.

That's what I was thinking, I need one that's fairly easy to fit, cheap and won't go off when someone so much as breathes on the car. Any ideas?

On a lighter note, the two officers that turned up called forensics "CSI", it took all my willpower not to do my finest Horatio Cain impression.

I should worry more about your bank stmts and details which may have been stolen! See if you can chg your acct num pronto!

That's already done, first thing we did.

"CSI" have been and gone, they found absolutely nothing, which is odd as our fingerprints will be all over the inside of the car and they never took ours as a comparison.

did they dust with flour? if they cant find ** prints they must have done something wrong.

Took them 5 minutes, 3 of them to claim that the rain had washed away all the prints, even, mysteriously, the ones inside the car

I've bent the door back, seem's secure enough now. Luckily none of the metal was buckled.
