I've got a 6 month old macbook, which has somehow had the screen smashed on it. I've already replaced it with a Macbook Pro, so I don't need the portable side of it, but I'm thinking that there must be something I can do with it instead.

So what can I install on it, or use it for, to stop me just throwing it away? Thinking along the lines of server apps, but there must be something else I could do with it as well.

i presume external output works yeah?

Yes the laptop works fine (even the screen if you don't mind all the bleeding), but can't really be carried around anymore.

Sell me it for £50 :p

Don't throw it away,I give you £75 for it!
Best bet is to just connect it to a monitor and use that as a secondary pc...or sell it to me. ;)

One word...

Carputer!...

Just get a few other bits (Power supply ext..) and a small (7 inch) external touch screen and stick it in your car!!

I recently ran over my macbook :( leaving the screen totally smashed, everything else was ok, including plastic bezel, got a screen from egay for £100 delivered.

if you dont need in consider fixing it and selling it?

Its not that hard to replace at all either...you only need to take the screen section apart, other than that say hello to your new flat mac mini, with UPS :)

Thanks for all the offers guys, but this thread was about ways to avoid getting rid of this laptop. Not to find potentials buyers for it :p
