Broken Pixel Buds? Good luck getting Google to replace them.

Yes, and it only took them about 5 times as long as it needed to because they were being an arse. But they feel like they asserted their dominance over a random stranger doing a thankless job for low pay,!

Well wrong in the sense that if people didn't use customer service, there would be no customer service roles.

So by me actually engaging with this chat operative for nearly an hour, I am actually justifying their job. So they can thank me later.

No doubt Google will be eagerly awaiting the rollout of their new AI to fill the roll of humans in tech support soon.

If you mean calling out ****-ish behaviour for what it is then, yes, that's what the forum has come to.

Just more jumping on the bandwagon behaviour.

The level of vitriol and insults that have come from a large proportion of posters on this thread is way in excess of how I supposedly acted. I personally don't get that worked up or involved in how others choose to conduct themselves, it's really of little consequence to me.

However, on here it just makes certain individuals here feel empowered they can join in with the name calling, because the reality is they are likely suffering low self-esteem and that's the only way they can derive a sense of satisfaction.

So have at it, if it makes you feel better.

So when's he coming back for round 3 then?
What a sad act, truly.

The sheer glee people here must have, waiting to launch a barrage of insults and wise cracks, over literally nothingness, to somehow bolster their egos and make their own sad existences feel better.

Wonderful entertainment though I must say.

Let's not forget, I asked for other people to share their experiences with Google support, not to have an assessment of how politely or impolitely I interacted with them, for which I don't really care, I got the desired result, so despite the unnecessary criticism, it literally had no bearing on the outcome.

So for all those that responded out of turn, you derailed what could otherwise have been a fairly informative discussion.

Update for those interested.

I sent the broken Pixel buds back using DHL as per Google's instructions, using their prepaid label. DHL later on refused the item and returned it to me, because they only allow a maximum of two lithium ion batteries per package, and the Pixel buds contain three, one in the case, one in each earphone.

I informed Google of this and they thanked me for making them aware of this and decided I no longer needed to return the faulty ones.

I had a look this evening with a view to repairing them. Having carefully pried the case apart (it's not really designed to be opened it would seem) I unscrewed the logic board at the bottom of the case and found the push-fit connector for the interconnecting cable loose. I applied a dab of hot glue to it, and all is working well, bar some marks on the case where it was opened.
