Yesterday I was moving my rig to a new case and I was using compressed air to clean everything. At the moment I'm having a problem with My Asia xonar 7.1 sound card, it keeps prompting a message "internal power not connected". I've reinstalled drivers, fiddled around with the power cable (haven't tried connecting to another socket but will now).

EDIT: sound is actually working, but it's very fuzzy? But when I try and get into xonar software it prints that stupid message

I found the problem thank god! The problem was the white floppy plastic connector, somehow it was pulled too far forward so when I was connecting power cable it wasnt fully inserted. I was wiggling the plastic piece around and all of a sudden it shot backwards, revealing more pin space. Inserted power cable again and there you go. Done. :)
Anything happens like this again I'll put the lil **** in the microwave!

They can be a pain those floppy connectors. A fair few people have had problems with them not pushing home properly, etc. Asus really should have released proper PCIe cards, like Creative have done, rather than modified PCI cards which require external power.

Anyway, glad it's up and running. :)

I agree with you because that floppy connector is horrible and just cheap and lazy! It was so far forward and I didn't realise it should be like that but hey, how often do you look at your sound card? Haha
It's such a good sound card though
