brothers in arms: hells highway....1/2 price....you know where

these threads are irritating not least because the OP should have read something like,

Steam normally charge twice the price for this game as you can get in multiple other places, for this ONE DAY ONLY MASSIVE SALE STEAM WILL CHARGE YOU THE SAME PRICE as several other places you can get the game.

wow, just wow, now again for Far Cry 2, its now £18, the price you've been able to get FC2 at for a couple months from most sources, what an uber sale.

Honestly this over excitement from people over steam is getting ridiculous. Its an ok, but lets be honest basic platform for games to start from, it works, it works ok, for me theres entirely no reason for an extra program to run, open and open games from but thats just me. As for buying games, I think Bioshock was one game I bought direct from steam because it was £5 more and I was ill, bored out of my mind and it was a friday so wouldn't have gotten it till monday at the earliest had I ordered online. Even then it was expensive.

Steam is NEVER and WILL never be competitive, its really that simple. threads announcing normal pricing, for a single day, months and months after release really aren't remotely needed.

Steam is no different to anywhere else - good deals/bad deals. It's exactly the same as supermarkets, some things are cheaper in supermarket A and some things are cheaper in supermarket B. It's the way it works.

Steam has had some good deals going of late, this may not be one of them, but you do get other benefits by buying from Steam.

Personally I like Steam, but I will always shop around for the best prices for whatever game I'm after - just the same as I would anything else - sometimes Steam are cheaper, sometimes they're not.
