Browsers No Longer Working - help!

Just recently, this odd problem has started happening...

Neither firefox or IE are able to display any internet pages - with the page not found error coming up.

I have stopped and restarted the DNS service
I have run Spybot and it found nothing
Messenger works fine
Other PCs on the network access the internet fully.
I have done a windows re-install

And still the browsers just dont work.

Any suggestions please?

Sorry for the late reply guys, there is no proxy involved, and the IE settings reflect this.. Ping and Tracert come back with the same thing...

Pinging 66.249.93.104 with 32 bytes of data :

Funny that, there was what seemed to be a corrupted Zonealarm uninstall, as the program was still in the programs installed list, but with no size. I removed that at the time. I hate zonealarm, awful software.

I will mandraulically remove zonealarm from the registry/directory and see if that helps.
 
hi iam also having issues with sky and so is my uncle its def their fault as my setup is ok. router says I have connection but pings are intermittent. I have resorted to mobile phone now and that's not working 100% either web sites working and then not working took 10 mins of trying to get here
