Browsing internet while using vpn.

When connected to my uni's vpn I can't browse the internet without going through their webcache proxy, for privacy reasons I want to be able to browse the internet without going through their vpn, is this possible?

When I was in uni halls, me and a friend rented our own VPN for £10 a month. Meant we could play online games, and browse off the uni network

How do you connect to the uni vpn?

Ok, on the VPN click (from memory) Properties -> Networking -> Double click TCP/IP4 -> Advanced -> Uncheck use default gateway on remote network

That should all your stuff going via the uni, unless they have some cleaver software doing something else. Check your internet browser settings to ensure you are not using any auto proxy or proxy.

Remember, if you play with it to much, it will fall off.
