Hi all,
Was just checking some F1 vids out on the tube, as one does
And I came across a comment which I've thought about myself during some of the races this year:
"The problem with Brundle and Coulthard is not the fact that they're boring, I find them quite entertaining. It's the fact that they seem to have forgotten they are British commentators on British television so they are supposed to get excited when a British driver wins, when Button won the 2011 Canadian Grand Prix they were more concerned with Vettel than the fact that their boy was about to win the best race of his career.
They don't need lessons from James Allen but they do need to liven up."
This is a comment on this video:
Sadly, I have to agree with that. I've found myself thinking the same on a few occassions.
But, let me make clear that I am a massive massive fan of MB And DC and I think they have a great chemistry and work together brilliantly. For me, MB has a great voice for an F1 commentator, and DC's voice is easy on the ears as well. The pair's technical assessments during the race etc. are superb and they're enjoyable to listen to, even sometimes having a few jokes here or there.
But I do miss the commentators like Murray/Allen who really pitched their voice up and got ultra excited when it mattered. Does anyone else think this?
