Hi all, I have just come from the test screening of Bruno, and I would like to give a review of what I seen. Just to note, this was a test screening and that the end product may not be in any shape or form resemble what was submitted to us today (02/04/09).
Ok so Bruno is one of the characters Sacha Cohen decided to take to the big screen. Those of you that have seen Borat will be familiar with the style of humour to expect from Sacha Cohen, and to be honest you really will not be dissappointed from what they have in store for you.
The plot line I am afraid is something they did not really improve. Infact you can almost put them side by side and say they just swapped the characters (Borat from kazakhstand, Bruno from Austria, both go to America to try make a name for themselves, both lose their only companion, both act completely unaware of their surrounding culture). you could quickly relate to this because the story goes along at the same pace as Borat. Unlike Borat though, you feel that the story is a lot less believeable. I am not sure if this is supposed to try to be real or is one of those "its real, but it clearly isn't" style of comedies. Yes a lot of the interviews are real, but then the plot line just doesnt match up to the realism you see when he is taking the **** out of the people he is in company with.
The humour itself is great I mean it takes the boundaries Borat had with all things wrong and goes even further... In some scenes you really do wonder how he didnt get a good beating and I kid you not, the entire audience clapped and gave a good lol a good few times. Which in itself should make you want to go see this film.
I hope they do not try and cut out the more vulgar scenes because they were (to be honest) the better parts of the movie.
Just to clarify, I went in not knowing who the Bruno character was, had little interest in the movie before watching and am 26.
Go see this movie with an open mind and expect the unexpected. I will be seeing it again and I recommend anyone that enjoyed the humour Borat brought to go see this.

Looking forward to this one. I saw on YouTube that they'd made a lot of people angry by advertising a cage fight event, but instead it was Bruno and another dude getting naked and dancing or something. Was this in the movie and did they explain that the people coming weren't going to see what they expected?

lol "Daves straight man banging!" how nobody caught on I never know - the reactions from some were priceless :D

After months of wondering what the heck happened to this movie, I watched the trailer yesterday and I'm interested in it again. Always preferred the humour of Bruno to Borat anyways.

Might see this, most likely on dvd. Bruno has always been my least favourite character out of ali g/borat.

in interviews hes been playing the character amazingly well. some of the stuff hes been saying has had me in tears
