Bruno Senna replaces Nick Heidfeld at Renault, says Eddie Jordan

Heidfeld should never have been in the car in the first place. He's a useless journeyman.

More reliable than someone banking on the Senna surname than actual talent (Bruno didn't win a single feeder series - Nick has won both F3 and F3000).

Unless you're telling me Peter Sauber and Alain Prost are poor judges of driver suitability? Heidfeld wouldn't have been hired every season for 11 years running if he was as useless you as claim.

This hasn't actually been officially confirmed yet has it?

No.

Heidfeld was more often than not given drives as the second seat was spare. And even then he'd have to have a test day against the likes of Pizzonia to actually get the seat.

While I know that Renaults plan was to have a driver in the car who could bring it home consistently in the points - which Petrov was unlikely to do given his 2010 form - this hasn't happened, and IMO they gave Heidfeld too long to buck up his ideas.

Senna has had a few Fridays in the car now IIRC and a couple of testing days so should be more than up to the task of scroing a couple of points.

hes got more points than petrov even though he didnt finish the last 2 races.

i think petrov only gained 1 point in the last 4-5 races to

When the Sauber was a competetive car, he was on the podium fairly regularly, and within striking distance of Kubica when the latter won in Canada 2008.

The suggestion that Bruno of all people should replace Heidfeld is a complete joke. By all means, I understand what you're getting at - two collisions and a relatively poor start in the first 3 races is not adequate for someone as experienced as Nick is. Perhaps it is time for him to move on, but at least replace him with someone better than Petrov...

You're forgetting the reddies, if they are indeed stuggling the quality of the driver will come after the amount of cash injection they bring.

..besides I quite like seeing the Senna name on the grid :)

An upper-midfield team that needs to run two paydrivers? Even HRT are doing better with Ricciardo now...

Are Genii that useless at getting sponsors? Can't pony up some cash themselves? I thought Bahar's sponsorship was a significant deal.

If you didn't delete the lotus bit from El_watchers post, it makes a whole lot more sense. or did he add it?

Oh and that's how fia should regulate the front and rear wings. Look how simple they are.

What, they should return to aero tech that's decades old? Advanced aero development is a big a part of the sport as anything else. It's supposed to be the forefront of technology, why do you want to see primitive design return? There's other ways to reduce aero dependency than making the wings look like something someones knocked up in their shed.

I removed it to make it simpler. Lotus are a sponsor, nothing more. There is no historical significance of Senna driving the Renault.

If I hear anyone mention anything about seeing "Senna in a Black and Gold Lotus" this weekend I may have to punch them in the kidneys.

And the 2014 regulations on Aero are heading back to the old style :)
