Right first off its my parents pc. I personally would never ever buy an oem computer so don't just say that's what you get for buying a PB.

The computer model is a Packard Bell iMedia 1503. 80gb sata hdd 512mb ram rada rada rada.

I'm stuck in a boot loop, going through to the xp loading screen then restarting. I disabled automatic restart on errors and i get a lovely blue screen of death.

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

STOP: 0x00000050 (0xf96b3000,0x00000001,0xf96a90ba, 0x00000000)

I have extensively looked on google for a solution, here's the ones i came up with and what i did.

1. Bad RAM (cleaned ram slots extensively and put in ram from a working computer, still error)

2. Bad HDD (used hdd on my rig and another reads and writes fine)

3. Bad page file (i don't get this cos the error states its in a "non paged area" and i don't know how to clear page file)

4. I have also used another hdd formatted it and installed XP to it successfully, fully booted.

After this i am thinking there is a corrupt or bad file somewhere. Best scenario would be to find it and repair it, so a solution for this.

Worst case, take needed files and re format, really don't want to do this cos there are a lot of programs on there and cannot transfer them, with registry settings as well.

So any help would be very appreciated, anything at all cos i am in the dark.

I mean if there is a program which can completely take all your programs and documents onto another hdd. i can do that. Just cannot find one myself.

Thanks for taking the time to read and thanks in advance if you can help.

Try Acronis, they did do a 30day free trial and this will take a image of the whole drive, when you restore the image there is an option to install what you need.
