BSOD on new OCUK build

Recently (Monday!) took delivery of the Titan 8900i Plasma MK II OCUK build.

I've been getting BSOD every day. My intial thoughts are that it's related to Steam downloading/updating games as I've left the PC on overnight doing that and woke up to a BSOD.

Left it on today whilst at work with nothing running and had my girlfriend check it and no BSOD as yet (as of 10:30 this morning).

Any initial thoughts and/or advice? I've got the day off tomorrow so can run some diagnostic checks which I'm sure will be the advice!

Windows 7.

Kernel 41 error is the critical errors I'm getting.

Stable today so far with no open applications.

I'll warn you now, I'm quite a novice when it comes to Windows error checking and diagnostic tools!

I've got 2 8GB sticks. Run one at a time? Try different slots?

Something to add: left the machine running all day doing 'nothing' and came home to no crashes/BSOD.

Running Steam overnight again to see what occurs in the morning.

Might actually try playing a game tomorrow and see what happens.

Will also try running memtest.

Have sent a webnote now.

I ran memtest for over 3 hours this morning and it reported no errors.

Going to try playing a game and see what happens.

OCUK staff recommended reverting clock speed to optimised default. Done that and also reinstalled GPU drivers as had a BSOD relating to that when playing HL2.

Seems stable at the moment

The advice was to see how the stock speeds go for a couple of days and the get back to them so they can suggest tweaks to get the speed back up again.

I'll keep an eye on it.

I'd be inclined to agree but knowing exactly what people are going to be doing with their machine once they get it and the software they'll be installing and using could all create unforeseen problems?

How much does overclocking add to the value of the build package in terms of a monetary amount do you think? How much did that cost me as it were?

Fortunately a few web notes have helped today and the member of staff was very efficient.

Tom Brookes. He advised me reducing the CPU speed for now and see how the system goes over the next couple of days.

Very stable since then.
