Hi,could use some help and advice please.

Been running a 8Pack OC bundle i built about 4 years ago. My PC is getting a BSOD critical error event mainly while i game, when its most stressed i guess. I have looked at event viewer but im unsure how to interpret some info. Been occurring about once a month for a year but now become frequent
So far i tried removing half memory(have 2 x 8 Gb) seems more stable, ran without a BSOD for couple hours gaming. But unfortunately swapping sticks still resulted in BSOD after awhile gaming.
Bit unsure what these codes mean .
Can anyone help?

The event viewer message is pretty much worthless I'm afraid.

Are you running your memory at stock (probably 2666), or with XMP enabled?

How big is the CPU overclock?

Used AIDA64 to produce this report and posted bits..
I purchased this OC bundle from Overclockers. Its a 8pack bundle. So not sure if timings are XMP But all set up by 8pack team...

does this help?

thanks

Not sure the BSOD thing is a CPU temp problem though.

Throttling of the PC due to being too hot will cause 'issues' so I'd check the cpu cooling is ok, make sure any fans are working and everything is connected/mounted properly, maybe even remount with fresh paste etc.... also check bios for fan curves.

If the BSOD is coming in just one game then it's entirely possible that it's the game that is the issue... it wouldn't be the first time a single piece of software can screw up a pc... so a remove and reinstall might be worth a try. I have seen some posts on google about COD and BSOD's as well.

I had exactly the same issues, BSOD on gaming and full load, ended up checking all my components and it turned out to be my EVGA 1300 watt PSU, i think one of the rails became instable, so a new PSU sorted that out, RMA'd the faulty one as it had a 10 warranty on it, though it took me a lot
of troubleshooting, I ended up disconnecting all non essential components and software, which led to the motherboard and PSU. it was easy then.

Have you tried resetting to stock and playing the same game? On a 10900k system I had overclocked everything seemed stable until I played Warzone. Dropped the voltage on the cpu down a little and problem solved. That and Apex Legends showed instability even after passing Prime95 and Linpack Extreme.

Ok so found the problem. Thanks to my very kind friend who happened to have a spare GPU (2080 ti so upgrade from my 2080).
Swapped it out and had no issues since so got to be the GPU. Unfortunately its out of warranty.
My very nice friend said hang onto the card but i might try and purchase it formally as i would hate it if his card died while in my machine.
Not sure what to do with old card, as in ,is there any hope or of use to someone? perhaps sell on ebay?

Anyway thank you all for your help/input/time , its a good bunch on here.

Have you tried your card in another machine to see if the fault follows the card?

Seems strange that it only happens in COD and other games are fine.

Well we do have another PC in the house i guess i could try it in that system.
I play mainly warzone and did try some other games ,but maybe i should do some more testing to see if i CAN get a BSOD using other software.

I would definitely test the card in another system before thinking of a replacement.

I'm using my phone to read other posts so apologies in advance if you did mention this already. Did you say you reinstalled Windows?

If so, was this by a full reinstall or was it just a reset? Your BSOD could be caused by remnants of drivers. I'm certain Nvidia have a tool that locates all drivers and registries and removes them.

Edit: just looked into this and NVidia do not have the tool anymore it seems. You could use a program called Revo to fully remove drivers etc.

Another program you can install, install Blue screen Viewer, this will provide a report of any BSODs and if it finds any dumps, it will let you know which driver is causing it.

Before you consider reinstalling Windows. Open command prompt and enter the below command:

sfc /scannow

This command scans the operating system and will repair any corrupted files (corrupted files can cause instability and sometimes cause BSODs). It doesn't take long to complete either. Failing this, we could run a DISM command which reinstalls Windows (in theory).

Hi,
running it now, got this back :

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.
For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at
windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline
repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.

Thanks for the help so far ill go see if things work,or dont crash for awhile.and report back

You should also consider that there are very well documented issues of COD itself doing this to PCs. Perhaps download some free stress tests and let them run for a long time to try and isolate certain components.

Hi again,
So if anyone is interested , starting to get some black screen issues as well last week.
Right after i fractured my foot. So i gave a local PC Guru who came and collected and ended up doing a reset.
Got it back no BSOD or Black screen's to report.
thanks for all the advice
