Playing Mafia 2 on my PC, when suddenly i get the blue screen of death which meant i had to restart my PC. This has happened 3 times now. Any reason why? My latest upgrade was 8GB of Kingston Hyper Genesis which i got form OCUK last week. Before that i ran 4GB of G.Skill RipJaw and never had this problem.

Specs is as follows: Intel Core i5 2500K @ 4.5GHz, Asus P8P67 Pro, 8GB Kingston Hyper Genesis, MSI GTX 560 TI Hawk, Antec TruePower 650W and 250GB HDD running Windows 7. Not sure what the problem is but would appreciate some help.

Go and download memtest86+, burn it to a CD -or just download just about any Linux distro since many have memtest86+ (Ubuntu, LinuxMint etc) and it's easy to turn Linux ISOs to bootable USB drives:
http://www.memtest.org/
To do a thorough memtest means letting it run for a few hours.

Did you write down the BSOD codes? If the error just flashed by you might have to go and turn off automatic restart in the System Properties control panel>Advance system settings>Startup and Recovery Settings.

Swapping the RAM out has effected the stability of your overclock I would wager. You have been told how to check the RAM. Rather than download Memtest, I would suggest ultimatebootcd or a similar bootdisk. They are full of diagnostic tools for the RAM,HDD, stress testing the CPU etc etc.

As already mentioned the Kingston RAM has XMP profiles. Use these in the BIOS to auto set the best speed and timings for the RAM.

Are you running the Kingston and GSkill together?

nope just the kingstons, ran memtest for 50 mins and no errors. I've installed a previous set of nvidia drivers (306.63, was running the latest ones) and so far no BSOD. will test Mafia 2 for a bit longer and see how that goes.
