HI There I hope someone can help with this. I am having a problem booting into windows after my machnie posts.

These are new parts that I have just fitted I have unplugged everything part from the HD but still no luck.

It starts to load windows then BSOD and shuts itself down.

THis is the mobo: Gbyte AM2 GA M61P-S3

Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply.

Yes unfortuantly the BSOD is too quick to catch, is there any way to slow it down?

This is the memory I am using Cors VS 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 4300

How do I tell what defaults they need to be set at?

Thanks again

Whoops yes its cosair value select mem 4200 here is the part number : VS2GBKIT533D2

I know its not that good but the pc is not going to be that high spec just for browsing the web etc

The odd thing is I have tried it with Two diffenrt hard disks One with XP on it and the other with Vista.

Same problem, so I am guessing my problem is somewhere else.

I can't get it to boot from the cd now.

It just says press any key to boot from cd or dvd then gos to a screen saying that windows had problems starting last time and how would I like to start windows this time.

Any ideas?

Is there a issue with having a dvd drive as a master and a HD as a slave?

I can boot from the cd drive if I disconnect the HD but that is not much good as I need both available.

I can see both the drives in the bios.
