My setup is as per my Signature
All has been 100% fine since building it in May this year , with maybe the very very very odd crash prob like 3-4 times in that period.
However the last week it has crashed like around 30 times , so today i had enough and started to do some MEMORY tests.
The memory is Corsair Vengeance DDR3 low profile 2 x 4gb 1600mhz
the 2 sticks are located in the beige slots A2 & B2 as per the book np
within 3 secs of running memtest i had 1000's of errors , and within less than half a pass of the full tests i had 250k + of errors
After several tests with testing the sticks individually one is doing a full pass with no errors in slot A2 and the other is well lets just say giving me 1000's or errors when in the same slot A2.

So i take it 1 stick is borked ?
the good stick is currently in in the pc atm and is running Prime 95
With cpu Z my cpu is running @ 4013.59MHZ with a multi of 40 with the Bus speed 100.3Mhz ( as i lowered the Milti yesterday to see if the bsods were cpu related. )
BUT on the memory tab of CPUZ it says Dram Frequency 535.2 with the FSB : DRAM ratio @ 1:4 with latency or 9.9.9.24 Is that right or is ram being underclocked ?

I need the PC , so i think ill order another 2 sticks of the same Ram ( i take it oc still sells them ? ) and rma the 1st set ,which will result me in running 4 x 4 gb sticks once all is resolved ( is that a good or bad plan ? )

Just checked ocuk and the are still selling the 2 x 4 gig sticks ok , but they are also selling 2 x 8gig sticks as well in the same memory

Yes you have applied a good approach to diagnose your memory as faulty as memtest failures doesn't always mean faulty memory, only that it's memory related so could be the controller but your test is conclusive. Alway diagnose problems as such on a stock system rather than OCd. This will eliminate that factor.

As for the Corsair you mention, can't grumble at those prices :)

Whats the rma procedure for corsair ram that was bought from oc in may.. does it get returned to ocuk or direct to corsair ,, and is it both sticks or just the faulty one.
Also having thought on it and the fact the memory went faulty in like 7 months , maybee id be best buying another brand if i have to return the both sticks as ill need some memory to keep my pc going ^^ :)

Got Rma number etc , but have to return both sticks so that will me no pc for a week , so will have to order replacement ram and prob sell the RMA ram when it comes or keep it for spare/ future builds
So what Ram do you guys recon i should get to go with the above set up ,, id say prob best i upgrade to 2 x 8gb sticks, question is what memory ??

should do,remember to double the ram bus speed what cpu-z shows,so 800mhz will be 1600mhz actual speed due to ddr/double data rate
