BT blocking file sharing sites

Is everyone jumping to Infinity instead of another ISP? My whole town are with Infinity or standard BT Broadband and if BT start to block or throttle certain areas, it wouldn't take much to regulate a large percentage of adsl/fibre users.

Infinity has been in our area for months now and I haven't moved yet and by looking at other folks infinity in my area, I haven't been impressed.

All UK ISP's are going this way.

My previous ISP Be there also did the same. ITs tnot them blocking the sites, more the IWF.

Thanks to the previous government, and the digital economy bill, they are pushing through measures to cut down on piracy and copyright infringement, so you can thank Labour for this mess.

All ISP's of a certain size are going to have to follow the rules set out in the DEA. If you wantto escape it, your have to sign up with the real small obscure ISP's, but if everyone migrates to them, then they too will have to conform with the DEA.

No escape Im affraid.

Infact it gets worse. The EU parliament want to instigate a eu wide piracy crack down, proposed method, Great Firewall of Europe!

Police state here we come!

Well if its DNS blocking i wont be affected, have been running my own DNS server configured with root hints for years now... so much more reliable than using an ISPs :)

It is however a little too convenient that this issue is impacting those sites specifically, almost like BT are making changes that specifically deal with those sites
