BT fair usage policy

Same here once I hit 30gig they start throttling, once I hit 50gig they really start agressively traffic managing :( I one off hit 100gig this month and they claim I'm now going to be throttled to 1Mbit/s - like I have been ever since I went past 30gig... only its not even 1Mbit as you can see from my other posts... once you hit 100gig they throttle your connection to death.

Did 30Gb here and was capped to the boolox for the rest of the month and I'm on the option 3 unlimited.

Just paid for the next 3 months of my broadband to them and now waiting in anticipation for the end of September so I can tell them to shove their service where the sun dont sine and move to Sky.

I wouldnt mind but I have been a Bt Broadband user for 6 years and the 30Gb was used between 3 of us in the house.

so they LIED to my parents >_>

Think that's bad?

Our contract with them was due to expire a while ago and they called us to see if we wanted to sign for another year to which I said I didn't want to and was moving to Sky and would call back later that day to sort out the migration code as I had to go out.

Well, they called back an hour later and spoke to Mum as I wasn't in and got her to sign up for another year for the same price but sent a free HomeHub.

well when I first got it, the sales guy said "no limites on downloads" literly unlimited.

after that 18 monuths we was going to go with O2 but isnt BT sned my parents a £30 cannon printer, so my dad went meh and is doing anohter 12 mouths contract with them

You guys seem pretty unlucky! I downloaded 60gb in one months and didn't notice any throttling, apart from the usual throttling they put in after 5pm to 12pm (for me). I usually get speeds of around 6.8mbits when outside of those hours, and around 5mbits inside those hours, so usually can watch youtube and iplayer.

Saying that, I have noticed when downloading all the Linux distro, that p2p gets throttled to around 25kb/s compared to the 650kb/s I would get in normal times.
