Hi all,

Got a small problem with BT.

Around 4 years ago my brother was spending stupid amounts on my nans phone so she phoned BT and had them block out going calls unless she entered a PIN number first.

She moved to another provider around 3 years ago and has just moved back to BT on the 7th and can't make outgoing calls. It turns out that they have reactivated her account and kept the outgoing call blocker on it.

My nan can't remember the number and is quite ill at the moment, struggling to breath etc and lives on her own. She has an emergency button she can press that alerts a company who then phones her contacts to go and check on her. As she can't make outgoing calls her button is useless.

BT have turned around and said that it will be the 15th before they can sort it out. Surely its just a case of going into their company software, clicking a few buttons and its fixed.

Does anyone have any suggestions of how we can get this sorted a lot faster?

Complain. Whinge. Ask to talk to their superior. Point out to them it was their mistake that has now put your Nan's life in danger and should be dealt with quicker.

PK!

Call BT and speak to someone higher up than the call centre techies I guess. It seems like extenuating circumstances, and IMO they should have no problem with putting a rush on the request.

If that doesn't work, then complain.
