Anyone using one? Mine gets delivered friday and im wondering if its worth using it or should i stick with the voyager 2091 wireless router i used previously?

They've had quite a slating on here for poor range, dropping connections and being massive :(

Just do a search for "home hub" in this subforum and you'll find plenty of unhappy people.

I don't know why BT Hub was slagged off so much but it works fine for me even on DS and Wii! Wireless seemed ok for me but I don't use it daily though.

In fact, I see absolutely no download/upload speed difference from excellent Linksys AG241/WRT54GL router I had.

It's not that massive but nicer to look at and use smaller footprint than any other routers. You have nothing to lose and if it doesn't work out for you then you can always fall back to wireless voyager.

I've seen two working this past week and tbh they do the job but I don't like the look of them.

But needless to say, the range isn't as bad as some people make out. Look at the DG834G. It has an average coverage but if you use various wireless cards, the signal can be so much better. For example I have the wireless adapter that goes with the DG834G and the signal is average. I also have a laptop with a builtin wireless card for dual core systems and the signal is much much better.

The BT hub does the job well but if I am mistaken for the price it goes for, I'd rather invest in a Netgear, Linksys etc.

I'm likely to be switching soon myself. The area i'm moving too doesnt have ntl. Am I right thinking you dont have to use the BT hub and I can use my own linksys adsl router?

I havent had too many problems with it, it does what it has to do. Occasionally when switching on, it hangs and you have to restart. Agree that its a bit big and ugly really. Quick question, when the homehub phone is sat in its cradle, is it charging ? or do you still have to have the power adaptor still connected to it ?

Well, mine is going back in the box.
I have been getting really poor speeds from it since Xmas.
Was averaging around 270-300kbps on d/loads for driver, etc. with my old dlink router.
Since going to the BTHometub, I have rarely managed to get above 60kbps
Only for the first couple of weeks was it any good.
I think they are throttling it back without letting me know.

I installed one for a friend, connected very quickly with no problems, but the software that comes with it is a joke, so much crap & bloat
