Hey guys im going to try and explain the best I can so sorry if I confuse you! My dad is currently on a measly 1.5mb BT internet connection connected via phone line and USB and im trying to set up a BT HomeHub that was donated to him so my brother can get Xbox Live. The first "problem" is that it came with no CD so I had to download the drivers online which was fine as they seemed to install ok and the computer started to recognise the Hub. Secondly I had to download the installation software which after a bit of a play around worked ok! So I started the installation progress and everything was going smooth, the internet was working through the hub, the wireless was active BUT the installation was stuck on the last "Finishing Installation" screen and after a while (15 mins or so) I decided to close it as it was all working, but as soon as I closed it the internet stopped working and now it won't work again

I've now had to plug the old set up back in and have no idea what to do as the HomeHub won't install again :(

Please help thanks.

right...don't connect via usb, if you have a network/ethernet use that. nothing needs to be installed using ethernet, it's faster and no drivers!!!

There is no way to use the usb modem and the hub at the same time so I presume he isn't using the usb modem. Just the hub.

Thanks guys all working correctly now. It just seems that the wireless connection is showing as locked on all devices I try and connect to the hub so im having trouble trying the wireless out :S

There is a wireless key on the back, but like I say it's just showing up as locked so I cant enter the key anywhere

Thanks :)

192.168.1. 254 -settings - advanced settings - wireless - wireless connections enabled, this is ticked?

Or try resetting the hub settings - advanced settings - system - reset

Yeah that was all set up correctly and iv'e managed to get the wireless security off, but now all my devices are taking ages to actually connect and seem to be going in an endless loop trying to.

Went to start from scratch so I unplugged everything, then stuck it all back in and it worked

Removed all the security in the wireless settings just while I set Xbox Live etc up and it worked fine :)
