I thought with the way we all share 2.5Gbps at the minute, the minimum guarantee speed is what your paying for. Fine if we're all on 160Mbps, but if we all start getting the 1.6Gbps they'll need to add extra trunks hence extra cost. Now with these 10Gbps trunks it should mean more of the slower tarrifs are possible.Probably not. There's a cost in actually providing a fibre but not really any incremental cost of provisioning different speeds on it. In five years when 10Gb costs £40 you'll just see 1Gb as the entry-level option for £35.
