Hey guys the time has finally come when BT Infinity is available in our area so time to upgrade :D... I have a couple of questions first though!
I plan to upgrade online and I've already followed the process right up to the checkout, but apart from asking for my BT phone number I'm a bit concerned that upon upgrading it's some how going to start charging me the £40 a month for Infinity and the £20 that's already being paid per month now for the current adsl connection and I'll end up with two internet connections?!
I'm guessing that an engineer will be sent out to set the new fibre optic cables out(?)!

Sorry if this makes no sense, but any help or advice greatly appreciated :)

You can't have Infinity and an ADSL connection at the same time on the same line. If your current ISP isn't BT you'll need to go through the usual cancellation steps.

Infinity is FTTC not FTTP - basically the fibre isn't to your house.

If you're already with BT they should switch over fine. Otherwise call your current ISP and explain - if you switch service without cancelling properly they might charge you.

We are with BT, but in the past have had so much trouble even getting them to "find" the account because what we have is actually BT Yahoo which in turn leads to be passed to 5+ different operators/departments when we phone BT customer service :(
