Guys, I got BT infinity a few months ago and used an ethernet connection because it was recommended by the engineer, and I was getting constant speeds of between 35-40Mbps.

A few weeks ago I moved my PC to another room thinking going wireless would not make a huge difference but it has, I have not managed to get a speed test above 10Mbps.

I could phone BT and ask them to move the location of the hub+phone line, but I'm guessing this would cost £100 or so, are there any alternative options to this? I use an ASUS USB Wireless Receiver, I am not sure if this has an effect?

Any ideas? Thanks

Just run a long ethernet cable under the carpet/edge of room/outside. Its what I do for my gigbit network and itll work for you.

Use a wireless N router?

I get anywhere between 6-15MB/sec (48-120Mb/sec) from my Airport Extreme...
