BT, modem connected but web pages dont load???

As title really. the modem is connecting fine and shows up as connected in the network properties, but in IE the pages are not actually loading. Anyone shead any light? thanks in advance!

Sounds like a DNS issue, have you installed the necessary software etc? Is the modem USB or Ethernet?

tis a usb modem, connected straight to the laptop. I installed the BT software, which had the drivers on and the BT software, so I had to put in the username and password.

So what happens?

You hook it up, it syncs up, you "dial", it connects, authenticates, then nothing?
Do you get an IP from BT or what?

exactly. i know nothing about IPs lol. But when i have set this type of connection up before it just connects and you can browse. seems really odd the modem is connected but no browsing

Look at the connection properties, it'll show you if it's been assigned an IP...
