Hi,

You would think the people I am buying the flat from would know about this but I havent heard back, I've never used DSL so was hoping someone on here might know.

There is a phone socket in both bedrooms but only the master bedroom says "Open reach"

Would this typically mean the other socket will just be a phone socket? I'm hoping not because want to use that as a PC room!

It should work in both. One solution if it does not is to purchase some powerline adapters.

An ADSL router will work in any phone socket as long as it's on the same phone number (More than likely in a flat), however, it should be plugged into the master "Openreach" socket for best speeds.

I've found upto a meg difference by plugging into an extension over a master socket.

Ok thanks for that, I'll test it when I move in, I'm going from a 50mb Virgin connection to BT DSL so its going to be grim in comparison anyway but if it works in the spare room then at least my plans for a computer room will work out also thinking about it the sockets are back to back on the same wall so hopefully they are the same connection
