No. For starters, the line doesn't move around, and Openreach don't have any influence over your connection to the DSLAM.

When I say 'move around' I mean they sort out the connections at the exchange. I know Openreach don't have any influence but I thought that they were the engineers that carried out the work for any ISP (on the ISP's instruction).

I know that when an Openreach engineer attends your premises that they are working for whichever ISP you've contracted to at the time, hence the same engineer can attend your house several times and be working a different ISP each time.

Openreach don't work for the ISP, they work for the LLU operator.

BT Wholesale being the largest of the LLU operators.

So if for example an IPStream ISP like one of the Entanet resellers (UKFSN, ADSL24 etc.) raises a fault with their provider, BT Wholesale then BT Wholesale will pass that fault out to BT Openreach to deal with.

I recently moved away from BT, but luckily didn't have the problems you have had.
When she asked me which ISP I was moving to, I just said I didn't know and I would choose over the next 30 days.

I moved to Entanet and it's sooo much better.

i've got my activation date set for next thursday on ukfsn. so i will an enta-netter also. :D

and looking back, i'm now glad i was abused. £50 worth of food/drink is not to be sniffed at. :)

Oh well, I still blame OfCom for making a confusing situation worse.

Thankyou sah. You have hit the nail on the head. You aren't a BT employee are you? lol

I was until about seven hours ago. I walked today. Couldn't cope with the superstress anymore. It's been mental in the call centres. I didnt want to admit that i was a BT employee here, because i'd get ripped apart. But i am no longer so i can say what i want to say. Ofcom haven't helped, true, but BT are.. well.. I shan't ever be a customer of theirs for anything other than line rental ever again (we haven't been since 1999 anyway). I'm not going to go into the.. atrocities they commit, as they'd probably try to sue me, but suffice to say, in all the years i have been working, and i used to work temporary agency manual labour jobs, I have never been treated so poorly by an employer. There, that's my piece. :p

I think that call centre work for any major company has gotta to be bad. I understand you not wanting to admit working for BT on these forums (don't want to upset the masses now do we).

Good luck on your next job.

whats the mac legal issues then, my contract ends in a month and i want to move to be*, can i ask for a mac code a week before the contract ends, or do i have to wait till after?

Although expensive, i've actually never had a problem with BT so I can't comment on their customer service.

Been with them since we had 56k, then to 512K ADSL, 2Mbit and now 8Mbit.

I'd be raging if they did that to me though :\
