Ok we all know that BT employ lots of offshore people, mainly from India. Because well it's cheaper for them to do so.

But what they also seem to do is ship a load of them over to the UK for 6 months or so to work on selected projects, paying them crappy money (good money for India) and then shipping them back home.

Now i work for a company that manages BT's automated document content, which means I get quite a bit of contact with these guys, the problem comes when they have to go home part way through a project and the next batch of new people come through.

This invariably causes delays, as the new guys are having to train up on the requirements etc. and all the problems which had been sorted a few weeks prior seem to creep back in.

I will say however, that when they are trained up they're generally pretty good.

That was a bit obtuse against myself? I have been branded a 'Liberal' and you tell me to get a life?

Hardly cordial behaviour.

well would you like to elaborate on this comment then, i can only see that you are nit picking at his writing style, its a common phrase used daily by many i expect, you are being over PC and if thats what worries you, then yes you need to get a life.

If he had said Indians he would still have got grief for making a point of them being Indian.
Anyway PS, it sounds like a rubbish set-up. They should have workers in on a per project basis imo, that would probably save money.

As for the actual post, i don't have a problem with BT bringing in people to train them as long as there looked after the way they should and they all go back, i wonder if any of them have left never to be seen again, can you tell us this, also the way things are going for tele services the more English they get in the better.

Generally when they go back home I never hear from them again no

My dad is similarly frustrated.
He works on software testing in Martlesham(sp?) and apparently they don't like saying if there's a problem, so his team thinks it's fine, then they check and find they were lying and there was a problem :|

Yeah, HOW DARE YOU use a common expression to refer to a group of people other than yourself, you freakin' racist!

BT employ a load of people, but then they ship them somewhere, and stuff happens.

OH NOES I'M A RACIALIST TOO

;)

If this PC rubbish continues at the current rate, by the end of next year we will not be able to breathe without someone pressing charges.

OP - I feel your pain, people joining and leaving a project before they can have enough impact to make them worthwhile reaaaally sucks hard :( When 50% of your time is wasted training different people for the same role, thats just poor business.

You worry I am over PC my dear lad how well you do not know me. There are plenty of other things to worry about rather than someone highlighting a term to a group of people ;)

The op has established what he mean't I don't think a sub member needs to come to his aide in this instance ;)

Sub member?
Pull your head out of your arse.

Head is firmly out, I was using the 'Them' instance in a different context :)

I am surprised no one else cottoned onto this
