BT txt message delivery service?

Is this a scam?

Basically the phone rings and recorded message plays, with a woman claiming to have a text message and reads out a number the message is from. Then she says to listen to the message press one. I didn't get time to hear the number properly as i was half asleep so i can't check if it's a friends number. I've never heard of this before and it seems suspicious, i'm worried if i press one to listen it is going to connect me to a premium rate line. Can anybody shed any light on this for me?

Had two calls from it, my sister took one and i took the other. I remember the number starting 087, i have a few people with numbers starting 087, one being my nanna who is quite likely to try and text a land line if it rings again i'll get the full number.

Ah it's all fine, turns out my sisters friend sent a text to the house by accident. These scammers have got me paranoid.
