So.

According to samknows, I can get BT wholesale ADSL and ADSL max, with no other LLU's available.

Does this mean, that whichever broadband provider I go with, they'll still throttle, cap and generally be rubbish? Or do they still have some free rien in these areas?

If they are able to offer un-throttled services, who would you recommend as a supplier?

Currently I can watch around 40mins of iplayer/4od, or have two people playing online games for 40mins before it starts to buffer/ping times go really high. (Weirdly, I can play by myself for as long as I like, foreveralone.jpg).

The fact that it works fine for a while rather points to the broadband supplier. It's not wifi problems, as one of the PC's goes straight into the router via a cable, and it's not router problems as I have tried a netgear (currently have a funkwerk R230aw) and I still have problems.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

When it comes to BT Wholesale connections you really do get what you pay for. Unless you're willing to pay a bit extra you will end up with a throttled service.

Who is the best to go with depends not only on the amount you use but when you're likely to be using the connection. If you don't use it much weekday daytimes then AAISP are definitely worth a look, otherwise try Zen.

Thanks:)

It's used all the time, as the office is attached to the house.

They're not far off what we're paying now, we go through a smallish localish company, they used to be good, but just changed provider without telling us, and it's just utter crap now. (They also changed broadband, including external IP at four of our customers premises without warning, meaning we had to visit each of them to sort out their external access, but that's another story).

Both Zen and Titan, look alright. Is one any better than the other?

edit - are be any good? I've always assumed they were crap for some reason...

We used to use Titan for their 100GB package before we upgraded to their Fibre services in our offices, pretty good 100GB usage for £21 pm.

Zen has a 50 GB service for £25 and 100GB for £35

so Titan looks the best value.

Use Zen Internet for the all the ADSL2+ connections at work, top notch provider in my experience.

Would recommend them especially if you only have BT Wholesale available to you.

I would do some reading on thinkbroadband.com forums before selecting a provider, especially if you are leaning towards Titan.

Zen are regarded as one of the premium providers with an excellent reputation going back years. I can't find much info on titan other than that they are a reseller (ie they don't provide their own service, unlike Zen)

There is also Fast.co.uk that have been good for me, but for the price difference I'd go with the suggestion of Zen.

When we spoke to Titan before we signed up with them they said they had finished their transition from reseller based to wholesale L2TP as we were a little concerned over some negative feedback they recieved as we read at thinkbroadband but all we can see on review sites in the past year is positive feedback again, guess they ironed out all the kinks before we just joined them.

Titans state download and upload go towards your 100gb per month, whereas Zen it's only download, also any unused GB's can be banked? They seem to be slightly more expensive but offer a better service/package I think...

My bad, only additional purchased GB's can be carried over...
