BTCC 2010 rule change

So you would wish to exclude certain manufacturers from the series just because they don't make an eligible front drive car. Though I do accept that isn't so much of an issue now that it is all privateer teams.

No-one says they cant enter, we are just saying that the rules should not try to equalise cars too much .... if a manufacturer wants to win they need to produce a good road car that is also suitable for racing

I remember watching that, it was amazing car control. He has had to do that a few times this year. The Chevvy might have a solid engine but the handling wasn't always tuned to match the 320s.

@Pigeon: Rolling starts cause more mayhem than they equalise start performance. Plus they too make a mockery of qualifying. The times i've seen cars ahead of their qualifying position by the start line is very common.

True which is one reason why I think the different gear ratio for RWD is a good solution. Rolling starts in the BTCC - we have enough safety cars already and do not want the big accidents with lots of repairs for independents!

This is about nullifying one item that does help the RWD cars (only the BM now) a lot apart from that the performances are fairly equal between the different types.

It doesn't help them a lot though does it, they are not dominating the field with their tremendous start line advantage. This is purely the FWD boys trying to get themselves an unfair advantage because they have a weakness which doesn't even cost them wins.
