Budget 2018

Sadly, many people don't give a crap about what society thinks.

As for the argument that media tells us that it is bad, I actually raised a similar question regarding bullying.
Bullies are depicted in every tv show and film as being the bad guys, yet there are still countless bullies in the world. Do they view these bullies as protagonists? Kinda like Barney Stintson's view of Karate Kid.

No one is inherently a bully, no one is inherently racist, these are all learned behaviours/viewpoints from your childhood, life experiences and peers.

"No one is inherently a bully, no one is inherently racist"

These parts specifically and depending on your definitions I'd disagree. More strongly with bully, less so with racist. I think growing up in the west these days you have pretty much no excuse to be a racist, that is the belief that as a whole one or more races is superior to one or more other races.

But If you took 10 white toddlers and 10 black toddlers put them on separate islands. Gave it a long time, assuming everything went well and they made little communities. If you then introduced them to one another. I guarantee you that they'd be at the minimum fearful of one another. I don't think it's wrong to be as animals 'inherently' fearful of the unknown. The difference is living in the world we do know there is very little that is unknown between groups of people with different genetics, and so yes it's ignorance. However I can see why some people who have lived in a little English village all their life would be fearful of a lot of people from a different culture with different beliefs coming into 'their world'. Does that make them bad? I'm not inclined to say yes.

But we dont live a island with only one specific race. we live amongs many races and so racism is inexcusable!

Also even if you live in a tiny village, you will be exposed by the media on different race cultures. Heck the BBC presenter you watch your news in is a different race!

The face of our Major in London too is a difference RACE!!

you got to be living under a rock without access to tv, newspapers etc to be that IGNORANT!

I know and I agree with you. All I’m saying is, is that it’s completely natural for people to be fearful of the unknown and that’s why you’ll never truly eliminate racism. Unless we all interbreed into one massive mixed race.

It doesn't help that politicians use the fear of the different as a useful tool to stoke or deflect discontent.

"It is not our fault you're unhappy, it's the immigrants. They're different and scary and they're making things change, vote for us and we will protect you from them."

This tripe gets rolled out every time there's a period of economic hardship, division doesn't help end that hardship, but it's really useful at distracting the populace for long enough for the situation to sort itself.

Aside from UKIP and BNP, which politicians actually say that?

Just because the Tories don't outright say it, doesn't mean their actions don't imply it. And indeed the rhetoric their establishment buddies **** out in the Newspapers, some of whom will likely be Tory MP's someday (like Boris), they say very little to discourage the level crap reporting happening.

UKIP and BNP are literally spheres of fecal matter, the Tories are polished spheres of fecal matter with a bit of febreeze sprayed on.

I jazzed up the rhetoric but it doesn't take much to see the swing towards blaming immigration during economic hardship. Hell Ukip not only managed to influence tory policy on this a couple of elections ago but actually managed to get labour to change direction in 2015.

Then you've got Trump, the move to the right in central Europe, the furor over Turkey joining the EU and all the increased immigration that would lead to.

Politicians like to create divides, it helps them to create a siege mentality among core support, it's not only migrants they focus on though. A few elections back the tories went hard after benefit scroungers, economically and statistically a non issue but really good for stoking the old outrage.
