Looking to upgrade our old 32" LCD and the number of bargain 42" plasma's has caught my eye.

We mainly watch broadcast content and sit about 15ft from the TV, so I am not sure that 1080p will make a noticeable difference?

Also have a Sky box and PS3 for the smart features, so no need for a TV with these.

This one in particular seems a great deal:

Can get it for £260 online now.

Am I missing anything here?

sky HD is 1080i so when it gets downscaled to 720P you will be losing out on some quality, but it won't look bad in fact it will look quite good due to supersampling effect.

IMO it's worth spending the £100 extra and getting the 50" version.

the only thing wrong with it is that it's not 1080P but most people honestly wouldn't know the difference due to supersampling effect when it's downscaled, especially if sitting 15 feet away, should be sitting around 12 feet away at max tbh, so I would get a 50" if sitting such a long distance away, a 42" will look tiny.
