This is my current base system:

CPU: Intel i7-4770K @ 3.50Ghz
Motherboard: AsusTek Z87-K
RAM: 16Gb (2x8Gb DDR3-1333)

I am long overdue an upgrade but looking at the overclockers site, I cant find what i'd call 'normal' bundles, the only options that i've found are £1k+ overclocked bundles. What would people recommend for me to upgrade to if my budget is in the region of £600? Is that viable? i've genuinely been out of the components 'scene' for years and have no idea what is 'good' or 'bad'. and what i should be prioritising.

Whats important to me:
  • It's for a Gaming machine
  • Intel over AMD (i know this will be contentious for some but it goes back a long way for me)
  • Bluetooth for controller, headphones etc
  • WiFi
  • Budget is flexible if something notably improved is a little more
  • I like quiet. I currently have a closed loop Corsair CPU water cooler, if this needs changing too, i'd like similar.

You want a gaming machine but at what resoloution will you be gaming at ?

Will you be using your old case and psu, etc ? If not you looking more like £800 to a £1000

Yes will keep my current case and PSU. YOu're gonna make me open up my case and find out what that PSU is aren't you

Earlier this year i bought a new monitor. Was expecting 4k to be the thing to go for but everywhere i looked people were using 1440 so i got this : MSI 27" IPS

I'm on a call at the moment so cant go opening up my Gaming PC :D but will do later.
You have a choice t's make if you want to go Intel , the latest 13600k @tamzzy build or drop down a generation to a 12400 per formance beast which will be cheaper and then you can put more money into a better gpu to power your lovely monitor.

You mite be able to get a kit for your cooler from corsair but if not I would get a aio with the same thickness rad you have on your cooler or you mite have clearance issiues. Presuming yours is 240mm

You you want a 6700xt or 3060ti to power 1440p monitor .

Example.

My basket at OcUK:
Total: £1,063.37 (includes delivery: £10.50)

I had a co-worker at my last job who bought so many GFX cards for crypto that he had contacts at a certain e-retailer. They would keep one aside each week last year as a few trickled in and he'd buy them and i grabbed on off him.

I like Tamzzy's basket. Especially if i dont need the cooler, keeping my existing H60 that i bought in 2014/2015 !
Nice.

You need a fast m2 drive to take advantage of some of the new features like smart access memory that will enhance performance .

.DDR5 is availible but not a massive performance boost in gaming , mite be worth looking into .

Enjoy.
