Hi All,

Trying to put together a budget build for my sons student girlfriend.

Got some bits from MM,

Asus tuf X570 gaming plus wifi.
Ryzen 7 5800x.
32GB Kingston FURY Renegade 3600 CL16 ram

from here and

ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2080 OC Edition 8 GB

from here

I already have some storage to stick in there, and i'm going to let the girl in question choose her case.

So I need a cheap PSU, and cooler.

been looking at this as a cheap air cooler, https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ther...-refined-se-cpu-air-cooler-coo-tlr-03270.html anything any better? for a bit more money maybe??

Don't know a lot about the cheaper end of the PSU scale.. I take it from reading various bits that Aerocool and Kolink are a no no.. so where do I go??

Looks like hardly any PSU's in stock at OC, other than the aforementioned no no's..

There's this Seasonic.. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/seasonic-g12-gc-650-650w-80-gold-power-supply-pow-ssc-03155.html are they any good? and is 650W enough?

There's this BeQuiet.. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/be-q...-3.0-80-plus-gold-power-supply-ca-14s-bq.html which is getting close to the £100 barrier..

Any and all advise appreciated.

That looks to be a decent cooler you have linked and for a budget build I would be going for the Seasonic G series also.

Either that or the Corsair CX range at a push.

Bear in mind 650w is the recommended minimum for that card so not much headroom.

The Seasonic is built by Helly and it isn't bad (has modern features), but it is built to a price and only has a 5 year warranty. The 12M is a class above the G12 and has a 10 year warranty. I'd look at the Phanteks AMP GH 850 for just over £100.
