Well, that's what I've ordered so far, but hit a brick wall. I have £85 left.
To buy that I had to sell my other pc, so now I have no DVD drive, no floppy style memory card reader nor a hard drive. I also need a processor.
Its unlikely I'll be getting any money soon because I really am feeling the pinch at the mo.
So I was thinking, Buying a Dvd/card reader for £20, a 1TB barracuda for £40.
Also was thinking of getting a sempron 140, and unlock it to a 2 core Athlon and overclock it. If it doesn't unlock, Ill send it back for another one.
A purely temporary measure, for a month or two, but I really need a computer.
Do you think its a good temporary solution? Or will I better off?

Are you being serious?

What happened to the Phenom X4 you were going to buy for £80? Or did that not work out like we all said it wouldn't?

The Sempron's do not unlock, so you could go buying as many as you want, but they will fail to give you what you want.

I bought everything else first, but I had to sell my computer, and I need a Hdd and cd drive, and I have no more money!

So what about an athlon x2 and unlocking it, good idea?

Its unlikely. Only an Athlon X3 or a Phenom X2 will unlock.

Really this why you should buy everything together, that way you know if you are going to have enough money or not.

Yes they do.

i dont see the point of asking for advice here if your not going to listen to them, ie. the PSU, people have told you that it is no good yet you still bought it.

good point but it has all the right protection features, and not really bothered if it blows up as its only £200 and your advice has persuaded me not to buy a 700w cit for £20 lol.

Not really bothered if it blows up!?

And if you happen to be particularly close to it when it goes and it seriously injures you, if not kills you?

Really good point, but its a good cheap psu with
Over-Voltage Protection (OVP)
Over-Power Protection (OPP)
Short-Circuit Protection (SCP)
100% Hi-pot, chroma and burn in function
Whatever that means, it wont be next to me anyway,
p.s dont make me feel even more bad about it haha, I've already ordered.

Btw will someone explain if my motherboard will support the new bulldozer Cpu's in the future?

Thanks

I think for bulldozer support you should have been looking at an AM3+ motherboard as an oppose to just an AM3.

dam beaten to it :)

You can't even afford a decent PSU. There is no point you looking for an AM3+ board because the cheapest one from OcUK is £70

No it's not. It's a crap psu just like you were told in the other thread. The Hipers supposedly had all that protection but still blew up and took other components with them. Why ask for advice if you don't take the slightest bit of notice?

No your motherboard will not support BD. You need a AM3+ board for that.
