Guys, looking for a budget flashgun, something 2nd hand would be perfect, but don't really want to spend a lot - around £50 if possible.

I have a Canon 350D and would like the ability to bounce the flash. Is there anything in particular I should look for / avoid?

I did have a Sigma before which didn't cost much, but I can't remember the model.

The only real feature I want is that it does not need too much manual adjustment.

try having a look on the bay of e for a yongnuo flash. I've got one around 30quid, think the pricier one is around 40 quid so within your budget :)

+1 on a yongnuo flashgun. I have the YN-468 which I picked up for £55 and it's brilliant! There's the YN-465 (the one Derek is talking about I think!) which comes under your budget.

just been having a look for info on the 468. I've known about yongnuo for a while but it seems like every other day I find out there's a model I hadn't heard of before.

Have a look at this for quite an in-depth review of the 468...

think they have a 465 one there as well.
The advertised guide number of 33 is actually about 20.5, but not really unexpected at this sort of price

in the conclusion the 468 has more features, the 465 has more power (but no zoom I think so might not be used effectively). Tempted to try a 468 myself..

I thought the 465 and 468 has the same power?
I know the 460 II has more power, but that doesn't have TTL.

They're both specced with a GN of 33 but in the test results on that site, at 35mm / ISO 100 the GN of the 465 is 26.9, the 468 is 20.4, but has zoom and goes up to 26.9 at 85mm

The Jessops 360AFD is meant to be a good starter/budget flash.

I was going to go for one myself but managed to nab a Metz 48 AF-1 off TP.

I ordered 3x YN-465 and 3x wireless transcievers from the same brand, which i cannot spell correctly. And 3 flash diffusers, for now. I aim to get friendly at a skatepark. I also ordered a 10.5mm fisheye :D

Should've gone for a 465 and 2x 460s or 560s, but pretty much the same so doesn't matter too much.

I'm waiting on a YN-465 and the RF-602 trigger to arrive from the bay. This is my first venture into the world of flash photography and it's good to see some positive comments about Yongnuo equipment. Any good sites / resources i should be looking at to help me learn about flash photography? Been getting a few inquiries from people about portraits lately so it's time to get a flashgun and earn a few quid :D
