Hi all,

I'm looking into buying a laptop solely for gaming, I don't need anything extreme as such, I have a PS4 so most the more recent games I'd play on there anyway. I have MacBook Pro which may run the games but it isn't ideal, so I would like a budget laptop to play the games I wish to play. Which, would be strategy games such as the Total War and similar spec/style games (nothing like Battlefield, Call of Duty or the more higher spec games). I don't always play PC games but it would be nice to have a designated laptop for when I do. Ideally my budget is £200-300 (nothing extreme), second hand or a refurb model doesn't bother me, any advice on a laptop that fits my bill would be great!

'Budget' and 'gaming laptop' are almost mutually exclusive!

Gaming on a laptop requires powerful GPU & CPU with decent amounts of RAM. Those things are the costly parts which push the price up.
Gaming laptops are just high end laptops. Your best bet will be 2nd hand/ebay and even then you'd be looking at a mid range machine with dedicated graphics for that budget.

I'm sorry but you won't get anything even resembling a gaming laptop for under £400.

Dell sell some laptops in the £400 range with 2g cards but they are low end cards and not up to much, but they will play some low end stuff and some game son low settings ok.

For £200-300 a desktop is your best bet. Most laptops in this price range are netbooks.

You might find a clevo second hand unit, but second hand laptops are a lottery.
