he wants to overclock it. Is the phenoms heat sink really capable of 3.8-4ghz?

I suppose that makes sense. Can't say i've ever really considered any of the cheap heat sinks before so never actually looked into them.

No its not.

A bargain is the Hyper 212+ for £16 inc.

This is £13 for a cooler that runs stock cpus less than 8'c cooler than the stock heatsink.

the 212+ is £19.99 not £16.

i think the stock heatsink is better than all the suggestions:D
