I'm looking to build my kid a budget gaming PC, mostly used to play Sims 4/Fortnite etc as well as school work but I'm a bit out of touch with hardware

I have a few parts already (monitor/case/psu) - can anyone recommend some decent motherboard/cpu combos (preferably with onboard graphics to start off with)?

Thanks :)

Amd intergrated graphics are much better than intel but you would be hard pressed to find zny available cpu's.

That leaves intel 4 core or 6 core cpu, do you have a budget in mind.

11400, B560 motherboard and 16gb of 3200mhz ram would be a good option.

Great, thanks mickyflinn - will have a look at the first option you suggested.
Definately a better option a 6 core cpu with better graphics, then drop in a better gpu when needed.

I would sugest you get a ssd hard drive if not already will make loading much faster.

Whilst I wouldn't outright say it's amazing, this bundle would probably suffice. And for a low cost, too.
It would work for those two games but you'd want something better for later releases.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £269.48 (includes shipping: £10.50)

Good choice but i doubt they have any 3200g in stock.

You could well be right!

I've never purchased an OCUK bundle but I figured if the 'Add to Basket' button was there, then the bits would be available.
I notice that with the 16GB Vulcan RAM it gives a message saying 'Out of stock' but if you switch it to the Corsair RAM instead it changes to 'All options in stock'.

Whether that includes the CPU is anyone's guess

This is Fortnite with Intel UHD 750 (which you can find on 11500 upwards as long as there's no F in the name):

Looks quite playable at 1080p.

Copied the video time for Fortnite but apparently it doesn't work when embedded here. You'll find it at 5:00.
