Budget graphics card specific for Doom3

Hi all,

Got a 2 year old PC with an AGP slot that I need to buy a Graphics Card (budget) that will support the running of Doom3. It doesn't have to run the game at full everything, just something capable of letting the game function at a playable level.

6800GT or better, dont use a 6600GT as someone else mentions above; as it will still struggle with Doom3 7600GT's cope with most games very well

Thank you very much guys, sorry for not mentioning the 'actual' budget lol - my bad

It was about £120 ish give or take (basically what I meant was as the PC is quite old now (couple of years) they didn't want to blow a mint on a massive high end card.)

No worries, that is an excellent price for the 7600GT, I'd get that if I were you.

What is the rest of your spec btw?

The x1950pro is a great card and unless you are thinking of moving away from the AGP platform in the near future (maybe your cpu sucks) I would go for that. It's significantly faster than all the other cards mentioned.

That said, a 7600GT should be more than adequate for Doom3.
