I bought a 5770 when i was looking for a budget graphics card and i've been very impressed with it. I play in 1360 x 768 too and it handles everything i've thrown at it (Crysis 2, SC2, DA2, etc).

Ah, if you need audio out of a HDMI port it can be more complex. The only DVI to HDMI adapters that certainly pass over the audio properly to HDMI are the ATI branded adapters that come with their cards. This may seems like a hassle, but they are readily available online (think auction sites) and pretty cheap. It's a shame the XFX single slot 5770 doesn't come with one.
I've used that adaptor you linked with my GTX480 and it outputs sound to my Sony TV. I use the one that came with my GTX480 though because the screws are easier to tighten/loosen.
