Right guys a friend of mine is after a new pc he tends to play things like wow and a few games nothing to demanding. He's after a new pc; tower, monitor keyboard and mouse.

Now his dad has seen a pc from the pink (formerly purple) shirted place called the Acer aspire M3201 with a 19" tft for £399.99.

It comes with

Amd Phenom X4 9150e
vista premium (i assume 32bit)
2gb DDR2 ram
320gb sata hdd
ATI HD3200 gfx

Can you help me try and beat this for price and value I'm not sure he'd feel the benefit of quad core but I may be wrong. Any suggestions welcome but it needs to be cheaper or the same.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah the stickied thread has a tower spec for £300, just add monitor and peripherals, and yes it would beat that acer hands down in terms of gaming capability, much better gfx card

Here's some suggestion and better than that ACER :D

Not bad starting place by willy but I'd fork out extra for a better gfx card personally, but then you're going to be spending more, depends how strict your budget is

Its a good try I just know he'll want the pc for playing some games on. Its a tough one can it be done?

That 3200 gfx on the Acer wont take kindly to games - to play games, a better gfx would be needed therefore upping the price.

This comes to £476, but will play games reasonably well. (God vista takes a huge chunk out of the budget :()

Acer are able to save huge amounts of money by buying in bulk and skimping slightly on the PSU/Case/Mobo.
