hello guys,

i am trying to make a pc for about £ 650-700

up till now i have made this
pcspec.jpg

i have intentionally left out the ram because i dont know if i have to put 3 ddr3 rams chips in or 2 ddr3 ram chips but i want to try to put in as much as i can.

i want to keep the processor anything you can change.

thanks in advance.;)

looks very nice, the only thing i would change would be the graphics card, i have a ati 5770 and it is very good and only about £125, so you would save some money there and you get direct x11. on the motherboard you can put 1 or more dimms of ram in, if you want to buy 4gb now and possibley add another 2gb in the future you can do that.

ati 5770:

Let me ask you. What are you doing on your computer to warrant such an expensive CPU? Personaly id go for an i5 if its for evreyday stuff/gaming

save £100 and get drunkerd!!

Or put it towards your GPU

hmm i am going to use this computer for a bit of gamming.

mainly i am going to be programming and running 10 VMmachines of it.

i am currently w8ing for the i7 980 hexa core processor to come out in march and then go all out.

this computer which i am making i am going to use it till march and then give it to my bro so he can do his homework on it and play games.

You have more money then sense then imo. I wouldnt get an i7 if i was going to get the new i7 980 in a few months time.

Get an i5 and then upgrade

first i was thinking to get the i5 and later upgrade it. but the chipset is different in which i would have had to change the motherboard too.

So then i thought to get an i7 so atleast it would be the same chipset. but then when i will upgrade. what would i do about such a good processor.

so now i decided to make a good enought computer so once i use it i give it to my brother :)

let me know of ur thoughts should i go for an i5 or i7 :D
