Hello,

I've never really wanted to buy a laptop but having quite a bit to travel i decided to get a small, portable laptop to carry my work and do my work on the go

I'm looking at a small-ish screen, powerful enough to just run code on and basic browsing. I may upgrade it and add it an SSD to boost it up a bit

At the moment, i have Asus x401
Previous consideration have been Dell-Inspiron-3531, and HP-Compaq-6530B.
Needless to say, the budget hovers around £200. Are there any other suggestions?
Edit: removed the links, sorry about that

Thanks,
Simion

Hi

You'll need to remove the links to the competitors I'm afraid.

I've had nothing but good experiences with the Acer V5-171 running an i3 if you can pick one up from somewhere I'd imagine they're around £200 now, even less if you don't mind going second hand?

I'd also consider looking at the dell outlet.

Hi

I would remove the links, because its against the rules to link competitors that sell similar products.

Are you willing to consider second had, because you can pick up a Lenovo T410s Core i5 2.4GHz 4GB RAM 250GB HDD or T420 from certain auction site for around the £200 mark also you can get the T201 which is good sturdy machien with similar spec but smaller screen size and there are some grade A machines available for £150 mark and will most likely do what you want and upgradable to 8GB ram and SSD very cheaply and easily( but double check this with seller) although little on the heavy side for ultraportable. They are good machines and made well but it depends on what you want really, like screen size, resolution, ram, processor and so on. What kind of code will you be running?

I would also do as advised by HugsHeal and look at the dell outlet, £200 is quite a awkward budget to work with.

I am sure others will follow with better suggestions.

Had a look through the Dell outlet, and the lenovos. They both look good, but i decided on the lenovo T420 refurbished for around £220, and i'm now just waiting for it!

Thank you both!
