i have one of these NAS which I use to save media and have always accessed it via CIFS share but recently got a new tv which can only access it via some sort of media software. The NAS has a really old version of Twonky Media which the TV picks up but the version is so old that although you can play the media you can’t pause, fast forward or rewind it so totally unusable.
Looked around and found a guide to install a updated version which works and allows proper control but the version is in trail mode.
Twonky is no longer available from what I’ve read but the software does take me to a site where I can supposedly buy a license. Now has anybody recently purchased a key as although it’s not a lot of money I don’t want to try and purchase a key if it’s just a waste of money. Again from what I’ve read any key from v7 onwards would work but again I’m not too sure.
Any help or guidance would be appreciated, I still have a few days of the trial to go before it I assume stops working.
