What advantages does a hdd with a 64mb buffer have over one of the same capacity but with a 16mb buffer?

There is a law of diminishing returns when it comes to cache sizes. The difference between a 2Mb & 8Mb caches is much more than between 8 & 16Mb, the difference between 16 & 32Mb is smaller still.

The caching algorithm actually makes more difference than the size of the cache.
