This has to be the most bloody annoying thing to clean off the car, I use decent cleaners/ mitts etc...but bug guts just do not shift, I suppose a mixture of what they are and the sun baking it in doesnt help..is their anything on the market that shifts them?

Had everything on it on the last clean ( no wax to worry about for the moment), but had tardis and IronX doing the rounds on it,was still finding bits and pieces ( Diamond White paint, doesn't hide a thing!)

Pressure washer.

Can't even remember the last time I had to physically touch insect remnants to get them off the car.

Not a fan of having to use a high pressure water on paintwork.
The AG stuff seems to get good reviews.

As already mentioned, autoglym intensive tar remover, I find this stuff excellent. And once every 6 months I give the cars front bumper, bottom area of the doors, sills and rear bumper a going over with it to remove any stubborn marks over the months and to just freshen things up. Then apply a layer of wax over it. :)

Went and ordered some, its just this time of year obviously, but with the rest of teh car so clean, I was hoping I could just spray this over the front area ( usual impact zone) and easily wash off.

I use chemical guys bug bugger. Mix 3 cap fulls with water in a hand sprayer, spray on car, leave 3-5 mins, wipe with sponge and rinse off.

You just need to get some kitchen roll (or some clean rags/J cloth etc), place it over the bugs, soak it with water and leave for a few minutes. The bugs will then wipe off very easily. This is how bikers remove bugs from their visors etc.

Actually tried that stuff, found it utterly useless, night as well have just been water.

Bug guts and their remains come off easy with soap and washing, but the blood and other various juices seem to form a paint like bond that just doesn't lift.

I've found most insect removers to be useless for baked on bugs. Generally I blast off as much as I can with a jet washer, then apply a bit of elbow grease with one of those sponges with a net around it and then whatever is left which is normally little I get with the clay bar. I have before hand used some old chamois and soaked them in water and left them draped on trouble areas to let them "soak" whilst I do other areas. Seemed to help at the time. However once this is done life becomes so much easier once the wax /sealant is on. Most of mine just come of with the jetwash now. I only have to wipe the other stubborn ones and they're gone.

I made the mistake of leaving seagull ***** on my bonnet for a week.

Wash & Clay..Chamois.. wax.... stand back to admire...

Whats that blemish on the front of my bonnet ?

penny drops.

Tried all sorts. No joy. Eventually used the White spirit & rag & finger rubbed it.

Success.
